The Search for a New Home

The search for a new home

Scientists at Cornell University have began an exciting search for little blue dots. When you hear little blue dots you probably think its nothing special, but these blue dots are actually very special. They are new infant earths forming far off in space. Not only is Kaltenegger excited about finding the planet he is also excited about finding new life forms:"The search for new, habitable worlds is one of the most exciting things human beings are doing today and finding infant Earths will add another fascinating piece to the puzzle of how 'Pale Blue Dots' work." Even though these planets are slightly out of our reach now the newer better telescopes will be able to reach these dots we might eventually call home. I think this would be a very cool thing to explore more. If there is a possibility that something might happen to the earth and we might need to evacuate it would be good to have a backup plan. I think its cool that Cornell is taking such an interest in this and other colleges should as well.
