Waves And Energy

Summary of new insight into improved wave energy testing

According to the university of Exeter they are trying to harness wave power as a renewable energy source . They just had new insight on it. They found a way to more accurately know the size of the wave. They now have wave buoys that can tell how big the waves are and how much pressure the have. This should help scientists know what there up against. This is an on going research of can waves be used for for a renewable energy source. They have gotten more grant money and have also been recognized by The National Environmental Research Council. This research is taking place in cornwall ( University of exeter, 2014).

I think that this is a good idea but there a lot of flaw and other things to be tweaked/decided. One of the problems was money. This idea will probably cost billions if they put it in use everywhere. also the technology they are talking about using is to complex. They have it all thought out but the problem is everyone is so used to just burning fossil fuels and you need a very cheap alternative to make people want to switch. If someone used this it would be very pricey because the business would be very expensive. If this were to happen it could only be at coastal cities like California and no where like Nebraska. Although this would be an amazing idea if it was reliable enough and less expensive.
