Evolution states that about 300 million years ago plants were formed from algae as they populated empty land around aquatic areas. Algae evolved from bacteria called cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria are usually single celled, make their own food, and live in water. Algae can be single celled or multi celled organisms that produce their own food through photosynthesis. All plants and algae use photosynthesis, the process of converting light energy into bonds of sugar. An alga is not categorized as a plant, because plants are rooted to the ground and are only multi celled unlike algae, which does not have any roots, therefore it can move around. You make ask yourself “How did more plants grow after the first one?” Since plants are organisms they need to reproduce to keep their species alive. Unlike humans, plants use asexual reproduction, the process in which an offspring is produced by a single parent.

Actually, plants reproduce sexually as well. Also, most estimates have plants evolving around 450 to 500 may (not 300 may).
