Summary of "This Friendly Robot Could One Day Be Your Family's Personal Assistant" By Christina Bonnington

Christina Bonnington wrote about a new artificial intelligence robot that could soon be in American homes everywhere. A friendly new creation by the name of “Jibo” is taking the world by storm. It is a social robot whose goal is to assistant your family in any way possible with a personality and humor. As for now, it is just a prototype, but the creator hopes that it will be in stores by the 2015 holiday season. Jibo uses a stereo camera system so that it can tell when a person walks into the room. It uses facial recognition and leans forward when it is being spoken to. Christina Bonnington says that Jibo’s primary objective is to be as human and filled with personality as possible.

I personally believe that this robot is a wonderful idea. It makes family life and doing chores a little bit more interactive and helpful. The design is beautiful and it looks fun. Some people think that this robot is creepy but I honestly think that this could propel us into the future. The price is surprisingly low and it is extremely advanced, so this is already proof that the future is coming and it is coming fast. I believe that Jibo is a great idea that is an important addition to technology.

  1. Cool! I like the look of it, too. Sort of like the Pixar lamp in promos.
